"When I met Bill, he mentioned that his cousin Pete wanted us to write a song for his Dad who had recently passed away.

 

That’s when we wrote and recorded the song “Carry Me.” I knew then that we had something special, new and exciting."

Lead Singer

Chicagoan Micah D. Nelson understands the power of church. His grandfather, being a pastor, helped ground Micah’s musical background and started singing at the age of four. By age 14, Micah had already taught himself to play piano and drums. He attended Emerson Visual and Performing Arts where he majored and minored in Vocal Music and Acting.

The National Anthem for the President Barak Obama, The Gospel Stellar Awards Show, “Nominated for Best Performance at the Stellar” WGN 9 Superstation, Grand Ole Opry, Nashville, TN, Featured in “Pure Payton” highlight film of NFL Hall of Fame Chicago Bear Walter Payton. The Temptations, Ice Cube, Patti Labelle, Gerald Levert, Bootsy Collins, Keith Sweat, Busta Rhymes, Carl Thomas.

 

Pete Tinsley

Guitarist, Engineering, & Producer

Since age 10, Pete Tinsley has made the guitar an extension of himself. In addition to the six string, Pete is a talented bassist. Growing up, Pete was influenced by bands like The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and singer-songwriter Jackson Brown. His guitar style is filled with melody, vibrato, and soulfulness. Pete is also a talented music producer and used his professional recording studio to record all The Theory’s music. Pete and drummer, Billy, are cousins. 

 

Performing Highlights Include:

Co-Writing with Grammy Award Winner Jim Peterik, Producing over three albums, Rick Springfield.

 

Billy Shary

Drummer, Songwriter, Vocalist, & Producer

Since a young age, drummer Billy Shary strayed away from the copy-band scene.. By creating his own music, Billy has made his craft a priority.. For the first part of his life, drums were his main instrument, but now he also plays guitar and is a talented vocalist. Billy uses two kits - his vintage Tama Art Star Live and Roland kit.  America, Kansas, Journey, YES, Rush, and Foreigner have influenced his music style.
